What Is PUMA’s Clever Little Shopper?

We've written about PUMA's Clever Little Bag, which boasts an innovative packaging design that reduces the package's paper material by 65%, and replaces cardboard material with a reusable bag. Now, PUMA is introducing its Clever Little Shopper.

The Materials

The Clever Little Shopper looks and feels like a regular plastic shopping bag, but instead of being sourced from oil-based plastic material, the bag is made from 100% cornstarch. This makes it completely biodegradable and compostable. The bag also dissolves completely when submerged in water for three minutes. The water can then be thrown out, and the dye is eco-approved and 100% safe.

The Benefits

By using innovative materials and safely disposing of the Clever Little Shopper after use, the new bag helps save 192 tons of plastic and 293 tons of paper per year. Such a great reduction of waste is a huge step forward in the path to a greener, healthier environment. Consumers can easily dissolve the bag at home, or toss the bag in a compost pile to bring it safely back to the earth.

The Future
